Gauging for maintenance operations need to be calibrated regularly to the latest standards and to comply with Network Rail Engineering Instructions. Our expertise allows us to provide a fully managed calibration and supply service for all equipment and instrumentation.
In this line of work, our rail gauge expertise make us the best at what we do. Unfortunately people tend to get bored of our conversation down at the local, but we’ve come to terms with that.
Our broad in-depth experience of the rail sector is second-to-none and rail gauges, for on and off track use, are calibrated and certified to Network Rail Group Standards and Technical Standards TM/TT/0017 and MT 288.
Did you know: When Bristol promoters planned a locomotive line from London, they employed the innovative engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel. He decided on a wider gauge, to give greater stability, and the Great Western Railway adopted a gauge of 7 ft (2,134 mm). This became known as broad gauge.
